Position Summary:

Shipyard Sports & Events Center is a premiere fitness and sports facility in Celina, Ohio. Our mission is to facilitate high quality sports and fitness programming that prioritize fundamental instruction, sportsmanship, healthy competition, and fun for all people involved. We believe that every person should have the ability to learn, develop, and play the sports that they love at any age, and at any time of the year. We offer a variety of services throughout the year that include sports leagues, tournaments, gym rentals, indoor golf simulator rental, open gym time, and more.

Shipyard Sports & Events Center is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual that is passionate about promoting our sports activities within the local communities for our Assistant Facility Manager position. Ideally, this individual will be able to help with coverage in the evening and on weekends. The Assistant Facility Manager will greet and assist all members, guests, and program participants. The associate will interact with the members and uphold the member experience standards. This position will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to Shipyard’s members, program participants, and guests.

Responsibilities:

Assist customers with program registrations, sales, and inquiries.
Manage payments, team registrations, and field rental bookings.
Schedule appointments for new memberships and follow-ups.
Monitor front desk, answer calls, greet customers, and provide facility information.
Process membership applications, fees, and update member records.
Collect payments for facility services and explain facility policies to new members.
Set up and tear down gym equipment as needed.
Provide courteous guest service, knowledge of complex amenities, events, and membership guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality and resolve guest concerns or direct to appropriate manager.
Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the management and marketing team to develop and promote events and attract new players and groups to the facility.

Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly.
Experience in customer service preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Gmail.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups in various situations.
Passion for sports and comprehensive understanding of rules.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional organizational abilities for managing schedules and events.
Team player mindset with collaborative skills.
